AERO 2007 expects further growth
AERO, the International Trade Exhibition for General Aviation to be held from 19 to 22 April 2007, will be once again one of the most important marketing tools for more than 700 companies from 30 countries next year.
Atec Zephyr 2000A promising trend became apparent after only a few weeks of AERO preparation: more than 50 companies already registered for participation. Another 50 companies, mainly from abroad, announced their participation with some of these firms even wishing to rent more exhibition space than in 2005.
Project Management is very pleased that “two of the three exhibition halls dedicated to General Aviation and Business Aviation are almost fully booked”. According to the organisers, major reasons for the success of AERO are to be seen in the high quality of the trade show and the provision of outstanding opportunities for networking within the industry.

Long journey by Ultralight!
On the 20th of April, 13 ultralights took off in formation from a small airfield in southern Sweden. The destination was the town of Friedrichshafen in southern Germany to visit the Aero 2005 fair, a one way trip of more than 580 nautical miles. A fantastic journey that unfortunately was very dramatic in some ways!

Improved Aircraft and Link search!
In our effort to improve Pilotmix we have enhanced the search function.
Search tips! To search for a flight school enter: "flight school"
Note the quotation marks (") around the phrase.
Sometimes it is better to limit your search with quotation marks if you get too many results.
Add Your Aircraft!
Not finding the aircraft you fly here? We have about 250 aircraft in our database now, but we need your help if you fly an aircraft not listed here. That is if your aircraft is an ultralight, mircrolight, ULM or LSA (Light Sport Aircraft). Why not add the aircraft to the aircraft database so other people can learn about it?

Dehydrator Plugs
At the website The Ultralight Place you will find dehydrator plugs for your engine. These are a good investment if you are planning to store your engine. These dehydrator plugs prevent corrosion inside the engine by absorbing the moisture. They also indicate when they can't absorbe more moisture by changing color to pink.
The price is only 10 Dollar!

Basic Parameters of the Certification of Aircraft and Airmen for the Operation of Light-Sport Aircraft RuleRotary Engine in Ultralight aircraft?
WANKEL AG has an interesting concept for us who fly light airplanes. They have a rotary engine that produces 75hp at weight of only 101 lbs (46kg)! For us who fly light aircraft, the usable load and empty weight is of great importance. Maybe this could be a good choice for us?
For you who don’t know what a rotary engine is. The rotary engine (Wankel) does not have any cylinders and pistons. Instead it has one or more triangular rotating discs. This gives the engine a very smooth running without vibrations. It also makes it possible to get a lot of horsepower at high rpms. The disadvantages with rotary engines has been high fuel consumption and a short lifespan.
Mazda has been leading the development of the wankel since it has been placed their RX-series of sports cars for a few years now.
Visit WANKEL AG now!Fun flying!
I just happened to end up on a Cri-Cri page the other night. I found some
video-clips of Cri-Cri in the air. The Cri-Cri's wingspan is under 5 meters and has an empty weight of 63kg! Very nice video clips of the Cri-Cri flying! Check them out!
