Jack Bowers is the founder and operator of Gateway Sport Aviation, LLC. and it is the newest chapter in his lifelong love of aviation. Variable pitch for the jabiru engine. The VProp blade pitch is automatically controlled by electronics inside the spinner cap, eliminating the propeller pitch controls in the cockpit. Energy that drives the pitch actuator is produced by an air driven generator in the spinner. When air flows across the vanes of the small anemometer, a small spinner cap located on the forward end of the propeller spinner, an electronic signal is produced which is proportional to the speed of the aircraft. The airspeed information is compared to a variable curve in the microprocessor. This microprocessor chip drives the pitch actuator to the most optimum position for the speed of the aircraft at any given time.
